Define your objective and set a course for it. An azimuth is a heading on a compass that helps you stay on course. Clearly defining your objective and checking your azimuth are essential to achieving your objective.
Identify your objective. Establish your azimuth.
Take that step
OnAzimuth offers individual counseling in-person and through virtual sessions and specializes Post-Traumatic Stress, Depression, and Low Self Esteem with a special focus on Veteran Transition.
Taking the first step on an intentional path towards change, growth, and personal freedom can be both exciting and scary. Therapy can provide a safe space for you to identify the path you’ve taken, the path you are now on, and the path you would like to follow. While therapy is not a magic solution, it can give you the tools to take control of that journey.
OnAzimuth Coaching is provided by Transitur, LLC a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business owned by Karl Monger, LPC A. Karl is supervised by Dr. Summer Allen, LPC S.
My Approach to Therapy
Our self-talk creates internal images that in turn create emotion that leads to behavior. I will help you identify negative self-talk and turn it into a positive, empowering form. This approach is based on cognitive behavioral theory. You will learn to create the space to select a response to a situation that will work for you, instead of against you. These theories form the framework for my practice:
Cognitive Behavioral Theory
Cognitive Behavioral Theory helps us identify internal self-talk and learn to use it in a positive, empowering way.
Existentialism helps us create a vision for the future that provides hope and purpose
Person-first and Choice
Person-first and Choice theories encourage selecting the responses that will be beneficial over the long-term and using failure as a means to move forward towards success.
“If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll probably end up someplace else”
