Karl draws on a depth of experience that has uniquely prepared him to provide therapeutic counseling to those seeking greater hope and purpose. That experience includes experience as a US Army officer where he commanded an infantry company and served as a staff officer in the 1st Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Following military service, he held leadership positions in several companies in the construction industry and for two years was the executive director of a Big Brothers Big Sisters agency.
The attacks of 9/11 galvanized Karl to use his professional network and personal transition experience to mentor and coach special operations veterans seeking renewed hope and purpose after the military, leading him to found the nonprofit GallantFew, Inc. in 2010. To date, GallantFew has provided over 13,000 documented services to over 6,500 veterans of all branches and eras.
While coaching veterans, Karl was introduced to the Burris Institute and became a Master Subconscious Restructuring Trainer. The more he learned about psychology and counseling, the more he sought to learn. Eventually, he returned to school, and at an age when many people plan for retirement, he become a licensed therapist.
